In small business it pays to be able to walk the talk if you're to mix it with the big boys. But in order to sell your skills (i.e. sell yourself) you don't need to be a schmick salesman. In fact, that kind of approach mostly doesn't work.
You simply need to find a problem that a potential client has then explain how you can solve it. This isn't selling, it's just good business. From time to time I run seminars on how to find great clients and keep them coming back for more. I can also do it one-on-one, if you want some quick tips on launching your new business. |
